Route To Malhada do Judeu. (Direct route) 

From Faro Airport.

Take the main exit road signed to Faro and Sao Bras de Alportel; this road has just been widened, signed N125-10. - (Do not go into Faro Centro), carry straight on to the end of the road following the signs for the N2. For Sao Bras or S. Bras, and (1P1 for Espania). At the end of the new road there is a sharp right hand bend please slow down, this bend has taken many victims by the paint on the walls.

At the junction you turn right and join the N2 to S. Bras and 1P1 Espania.

Keep on this road for approx. 6 km. it’s fairly straight. You will then approach a right fork for S.Bras on the N2, pass same, you need the motorway IP1 to Espania, you are now on the motorway approach road, take the fork right on to the 1P1 to Espania and Olhio.

After about 10 km. take the first junction signed Olhio and Santa Catarina once again the bends as you leave the motorway are very sharp, slow down.

On the exit road, take the centre lane; at the new roundabout take the second exit on to the N398 to Santa Catarina (5 km).

As you enter Santa Caterina there is a small roundabout, take the third exit onto the N270, towards Sao Bras.  Pass the filling station and the first road in from the right, which goes back to the center of the village, and take the next on the right signed to Porto Carvlhoso.

From here keep on the main tarmac road for about 5 km., firstly ascending to Porto Carvalhoso, the main village is in the valley to the left of the tarmac, you then descend down to a river, once over same keep on the tarmac ignoring all side roads or tracks, ascending to Bemparece.  Here you will pass a small restaurant on the right hand side of the road called O Cantinnho da Serra, keep going up, if you want to look at the view, its safer to stop you are unlikely to hold up the traffic! At the top you will pass a sign on the left to Agua do Tabuas; from here you descend into the village of Malhada do Judeu. On entering the village there is a sign for Malhada do Judeu, opposite there is a concrete wall on the left, at the end of this wall; select first gear, turn left and drive steadily up the driveway. The first few yards are unmade, from then it has two cobbled tracks up to the house entrance, this entrance drive is also opposite a white garage like building, the first building in the village.

The drive is steep at first sight but you soon get used to it, pass the first house on the right and follow the cobbled tracks for a few meters finally turning right into the front parking area of Casa O Burrinho.

 Second route via S.Bras.  (Shopping route)

At the T-junction you turn right and join the N2 to S. Bras and 1P1 Espania.

Keep on this road for approx. 6 km. it’s fairly straight. You will then approach a right fork for S.Bras on the N2, take this turning staying on the N2 until you arrive at Sao Bras de Alportel (5km.).  In the centre of the town turn right onto the N270 going to Santa Catarina/Tavira, (In the town there is a small covered market with fresh fruit, veg and meat, two small supermarkets and on the N270 there is a new "Intermarche" supermarket a short way out of the town).
